ambar
About
Ambar was a duo formed by DN Bianco and Ric Piccolo, active between 1998 and 2010. Both members came from an ambient-experimental project called “IF4P” and, after a few years, decided to venture into electronic-pop, giving shape to this new proposal.
Electronica and sonic experimentation were constant elements in their compositions, always seeking a balance between art and entertainment, while challenging the paradigm of conventional pop music.
They released three studio albums: Viaje Perfecto (2000), Postpop (2003), and Existencial (2008). They also took part in music compilations such as Fuego Aliando (Re-1000 Records – Argentina), Paraíso Holocausto – Blue Wire (Genital Productions – Mexico), and Trashaffinity Suite (Wicked? Mag – Argentina), among others.
Playing live, they counted with collaborations by various local musicians and artists, and toured much of Argentina, including Neuquén, Mendoza, Misiones, Santa Fe, and Buenos Aires. They also participated in major Festivals and Events between 2000 and 2010, such as Estudio Abierto (City of Buenos Aires), the Festival Argentino del Videoclip, OneDotZero, and Día Internacional de la Música.

About
IF4P stands for “Ilusión Fernández 4to Período”, a pioneering ambient-experimental duo formed in 1996 -and active til 1999- by DN Bianco and Ric Piccolo. Both came from rock and pop bands, but felt an urgent need to break away from established molds—embracing alternative instrumentation, bold textures, and the experimental atmosphere that was beginning to take shape in Argentina in the mid-1990s.
With this project, DN took his first steps as a producer, recording three studio albums and releasing music videos that received airplay on shows such as MTV Latin America’s “Ozono.”
